Even Tucker Carlson thinks it’s corruption, and let’s not forget Trump crypto currency
For the past two weeks there have been many articles regarding Trump administration corruption, focusing mainly on Mr. Trump and his family’s actions. At the same time we are beginning to hear from Trump advocates, as well as some Republican political representatives, expressing concerns. The Hill noted that “Tucker Carlson agreed with a guest on his podcast that the timing of the Trump Organization’s business ventures in the Middle East — just as the Trump administration announced new deals with those foreign governments — “seems like corruption.” Not a very strong statement, but surprising, nonetheless.
This was before the crypto currency event for Mr. Trump’s crypto investors at the White House, which occurred last week. The Journal article noted, “[t]he unprecedented melding of US presidential power and personal business took place at Trump’s golf club outside Washington, where Trump flew by helicopter to meet the 220 biggest purchasers of his $TRUMP memecoin.
The top 25 investors, according to an event website, were to get a private session with Trump beforehand and a White House tour.”
At the same time the Democrats are working to limit potential corruption in crypto currencies, with possible foreign involvement and even a few Republicans express concerns.
What should be done? All of this continues to be worrisome, as there is very little comment or management of these very probable conflicts by the President. What does need to happen is continuing constant vigilance and transparency, while ensuring that crypto currency are reviewed so that they are not open to foreign influence, leading to corruption. And, in this instance, we need to be very vigilant, to ensure that agreements made in international environments should be reviewed for potential corruption. These are worrying and this is where oversight can and should continue, within and outside of government.
